Background

In October of 2008, Marcus J. Carey started the DojoSec community by hosting DojoSec Monthly Briefings. After experiencing the information security conference circuit first hand Marcus has adamant on bringing that experience to a local audience on a regular basis.

Marcus wanted to create an environment conducive to mentoring information security practitioners and beginners. A Dojo is a Japanese term which literally means “place of the way” and Sec is popular shortening of security. DojoSec means a “Place of the Way of Security”.
